Alstonefield Manor, United Kingdom

Meet Robert and Joanne Wood from the UK, dear friends who I feel fortunate to have known for many years who have followed their dream to open a lovely bed and breakfast in Jo’s hometown.  Alstonefield Manor is located two hours north of London in the picturesque village of Alstonefield, at the southern end of the spectacular and beautiful Peak District National Park. The Manor dates back to the 16th Century and has fine Georgian features and Regency additions. With an acre of walled gardens and lawns, the property provides a secluded setting in the centre of village life.  With Robert’s graphic arts and Jo’s photo stylist backgrounds, their design and attention to detail is clearly noted in the manor, in the landscaping and in their gracious interaction with their guests.  This “must see” estate and the surrounding village of about 350 residents is a classic step back in time, but a refreshing new experience of Olde England.
